The Vacancy

What will your role look like?

As a Digital Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we design, build and deliver digital services that make a genuine difference for our clients. You’ll lead highly capable, multi‑disciplinary teams and create an environment where people can do their best work—balancing technical excellence with clear client outcomes.

Working closely with colleagues across the firm, you’ll help ensure our digital strategy moves from ambition to reality. You’ll combine strong leadership with a deep understanding of modern digital delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, curiosity and collaboration. Most importantly, you’ll champion solutions that meet real client needs and strengthen the long‑term impact of our digital services.

Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:

1. Building, managing and inspiring high‑performing multi-disciplinary digital development teams.
2. Embedding a strong culture of continuous improvement.
3. Supporting Delivery Leads with development approaches and transparent estimation.
4. Managing and mitigating key delivery risks.
5. Keeping teams aligned to industry trends and best practice.
6. Driving adoption of AI tooling to enhance SDLC performance.
7. Ensuring strong architecture and design principles guide development.
8. Collaborating on cross‑team and cross‑market resourcing.
9. Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Digital Strategy and Innovation.
10. Championing digital acumen to ensure solutions meet real business needs.
11. Enabling accurate reporting of development costs and Total Cost of Ownership.
12. Supporting prioritisation and investment decisions, including considerations of technical debt.
13. Developing strong working relationships across digital-tech aligned teams.
14. Engaging with external vendors and partners to enhance delivery.
15. Supporting the firm’s digital reputation through community and industry engagement.
16. Leading operational and people‑related initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

23. Proven track record of leading software development teams.
24. Extensive experience with Agile, Lean and Kanban methodologies.
25. Experience embedding continuous improvement cultures.
26. Strong knowledge of DevOps, including DORA metrics.
27. Experience helping teams adopt AI within the SDLC.
28. Experience managing strategic product or service development.
29. Strong stakeholder relationship skills.
30. Experience managing full product lifecycles for client-facing products.
31. Strong people management experience.

Desirable:

32. Financial or professional services experience.
33. Knowledge of Microsoft development technologies.
34. Strong knowledge of web standards.
