VACANCY:
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate, reporting to our Sustainability & Environmental Manger, will join our team at Middleton where we produce classic British Brands alongside authentic Japanese sushi seasonings and vinegar.With a passion for continuous improvement, the Environmental Manager will have a strong focus on aligning approach and processes with Mizkan’s Bury St Edmonds site as well as ensuring compliance with legislation, reporting and adopted standards.
Your responsibilities:
As a key member of the site management team, you will:
* Maintain & update the ISO14001:2015 Environment Management System (EMS) & site Environmental Permit in line with business, legislative and customer needs. This includes organising and leading audits and ensuring correct training materials for employees as required
* Lead the site on environmental issues and support our carbon reduction ambitions.
* Communicate effectively with external agency & customer contacts and internal customer-facing colleagues to establish requirements to ensure compliance
* Advise on suitable annual KPI selection and metric reporting for environment in conjunction with management and appropriate internal/external bodies
* Determine organisational needs to achieve specific customers' requirements in a timely, efficient and effective manner
* Monitor developments in the field of environmental compliance to advise on best practice
Our ideal candidate will:
* Have experience in a similar role
* Be passionate about driving improvements
* Have an understanding of maintaining and driving ISO14001 certifications
* Have experience developing and implementing carbon reduction projects
* Previous experience of liaising with government and private agencies (Waste/ Water/ Environment Agency)
* Experience of working with Microsoft Office Suite

Salary: From £47,000.00 per annum (DOE) + 10% performance related bonus
