Summary of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annum
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Temporary
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm, Fridays 8:15am - 1:45pm
Our client is a global engineering company that has seen continuous growth for several decades.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter
Assemble various mechanical and electrical components.
Produce completed pump assemblies.
Carry out stripping/preparation/termination of various diameters of electrical cable and continuity testing.
General fitting/assembly operations.
Record and complete dimensional and quality/test check paperwork.
Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
Loading and unloading of vehicles.
Requirements for a successful Mechanical Assembly Fitter
Mechanical Assembly/fitter experience within a heavy equipment and manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of industrial pumps.
Experience working in a medium to heavy mechanical engineering operation.
Working to production deadlines and assigned operation hours.
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
Overhead crane and forklift licence.
A keen eye for detail.
