The role of Credit Monitoring Officer is really important to us. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding against financial crime and fraud while ensuring responsible credit management and excellent customer experience. The role involves monitoring customer activity, assessing credit risk, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities:
* Financial crime and fraud prevention – monitoring the live book of customers to identify and prevent instances of financial crime and fraud
* Decision making – monitoring existing customers in line with our CDD policy, reviewing trade history and updating KYC information to assess the business relationship.
* Communicating with customers in writing and over the phone, being able to support customers in financial difficultly
* Adhering to regulations such as the FCA’s CONC handbook and GDPR requirements.
* Manage accounts through to conclusion, working to agreed deadlines and obtaining buy in for actions from key stakeholders
* Underwrite credit limits and fraud prevention using spend trends to identify risks
* Timely query resolution, working with colleagues in other departments, such as sales, Fin Ops, compliance to resolve issues
* Manage the relationship with sales account management to ensure open communication and agreed level of risk/ reward
* Credit alerts management, ensuring effective decisions are made to minimize risk
* Actively engage in relevant and appropriate opportunities for cross-department working to build relationships & share knowledge
* Participate in meetings and projects with wider credit team to continually improve department performance
* Use exposure to different areas of Credit and businesses / products to share good ideas and approaches across the team and improve the processes and systems as a result
