Paper Owl Films is a leading animation studio dedicated to creating stunning and engaging animated content.
The studio are looking for a highly creative and commercially astute Short Form Development Producer to lead the ideation, development, and pitching of short-form content for young audiences across branded, digital, and social platforms. This role is central to our growth strategy, combining creative storytelling with a sharp business mindset to secure new clients and commissions that serve young audiences. You will be responsible for crafting standout ideas that align with brand objectives, platform trends, and audience behaviours—while also playing a key role in converting briefs and proactive pitches into tangible business wins.
Pitching & New Content Development
* Develop original, platform-specific short-form content ideas for young people including digital first storytelling and educational content.
* Lead the creative response to incoming briefs, RFPs, and proactive pitch opportunities.
* Write and design pitch decks, treatments, and visual references that clearly communicate tone, format, and execution.
* Collaborate with producers, directors, writers, editors, and designers to refine concepts so that they match client expectations within budget and schedule.
* Pitch ideas to clients and stakeholders with clarity, confidence, and enthusiasm.
* Build and maintain relationships with brands, agencies, and platform partners to identify new opportunities.
Market Intelligence & Trendspotting
* Stay ahead of emerging trends in short-form storytelling, platform algorithms, audience behaviours, and branded content innovation.
* Conduct competitor analysis and identify whitespace opportunities for new formats or brand partnerships.
* Monitor performance of past projects to inform future development strategies.
Producer Responsibilities
Ensure all short form projects are effectively resourced to achieve contracted deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience
* 4+ years of experience in short-form content development, ideally within a creative agency, production company, or digital media brand.
* Proven track record of winning pitches and securing new business through creative development.
* Strong storytelling skills with the ability to craft narratives that resonate across platforms.
* Excellent writing, visual presentation, and communication skills.
* Deep understanding of branded content, digital marketing, and social media ecosystems.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent projects.
* Confident in maximising resources to deliver highest possible quality within the parameters of time and budget.
