*Position Summary:*
This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a growing team of industry experts. The position involves working with both steel and aluminium on a diverse range of projects, ensuring no two days are the same.
You will play a key role in new vessel builds, offsite engineering assignments, and custom fabrication projects. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and, preferably, certification in welding techniques.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- Perform welding tasks using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and MMA based on project requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise welding.
- Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in safe working order.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet specified standards and tolerances.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on metal structures as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
*Key Qualifications*
- Proven experience as a welder in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, MMA) and equipment.
- Ability to complete welding tasks in all positions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong knowledge of welding safety procedures and protocols.
- Certification in positional welding procedures (e.g., AWS or equivalent) is preferred.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle welding tasks, including standing for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
