Weston College is seeking passionate Engineering Assessors to support our growing apprenticeship provision. Whether you already have assessing experience or are an industry professional ready to transition into education, we will provide the training and support you need to succeed.
Although these roles are full-time (37 hours per week), we would also welcome applications from those who wish to take on a part-time position.

* £3,000 Recruitment and Retention Premia - A temporary Recruitment and Retention Premia of £3000 per annum is attached to this post, which is a separate payment in addition to the normal salary. A review of market conditions will be carried out 6 months prior to the proposed end date (two years from the date of commencement) to establish if the Recruitment and Retention Premia should continue. Further information on Recruitment and Retention Premia payments is available on request.

What you'll be doing
As an Engineering Assessor, you'll play a key role in supporting apprentices to succeed in both their workplace and academic journey. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assessing apprentice competence in both college and work-based environments.
* Monitoring and tracking progress using our online systems.
* Providing structured feedback and guidance to support development.
* Planning and coordinating assessment activities to ensure timely completion of apprenticeship standards.
* Maintaining accurate reports on apprentice progression.
What we're looking for
We're particularly keen to hear from candidates with strong industry experience who are ready to take the next step in their career.
* Significant, relevant industry experience in engineering.
* Up-to-date knowledge of current engineering practices and standards.
Previous assessing or teaching experience is welcome but not essential - we will support you in gaining the necessary qualifications.
Location and travel
This role is primarily field-based, working closely with employers across the region.
* Many of our partner employers are based in Filton, Bristol, and regular travel to these sites will be required.
* Your base campus will be either our South West Skills. Campus in Weston Super Mare and/or Our new Aerospace Skills Academy in Filton, Bristol.
* Interviews for this role will take place in‑person, at one of our campuses in Weston Super Mare.
