Asbestos Quality Auditor: Chelmsford
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: GBP40,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent Full-time
A leading UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Asbestos Quality Auditor to support technical compliance, auditing, and training functions across the South, based from Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for a dual-qualified professional looking to transition into a more senior, quality-driven role away from full-time site work.
This role is ideally suited to someone with strong technical knowledge who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining standards, and driving continuous improvement.

The Role
* Leading and coordinating technical inductions for new team members
* Supporting and mentoring junior staff through training and guidance
* Conducting competency audits and assisting with staff authorisations
* Carrying out quality inspections of asbestos surveys and 4-stage clearance documentation
* Supporting the Technical Manager with refresher training and development
* Managing internal quality systems including QC checks, RICE results, and equipment compliance
* Overseeing calibration, servicing, and maintenance of equipment and RPE
* Supporting investigations into non-conformances and complaints
* Conducting internal audits and supporting wider compliance processes
* Occasional travel to regional offices for auditing support
About You
BOHS P402, P403 and P404 (essential)
or RSPH Level 3 in Asbestos Surveying and Air Monitoring and Clearance
* Strong background in asbestos surveying and analytical work
* Experience in auditing, quality control, or training (desirable)
* Good understanding of HSG264, HSG248, and UKAS requirements
* Professional, organised, and detail-focused
* Confident communicator with the ability to mentor and support others
* Full UK driving licence
