Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire
Salary: £20,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: Within 1–4 weeks (depending on candidate availability)
Eligibility: Must have full Right to Work in the UK — sponsorship is not available for this role.

We’re working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive SEN school in Hoddesdon, who are seeking caring, proactive, and enthusiastic individuals to join their team as SEN Teaching Assistants.

The school caters for students aged 4–19 years with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and social, emotional, and communication needs. Every day is different — challenging at times, but always rewarding.
No Experience? No Problem!
You don’t need prior experience — just a genuine passion for helping young people. The school provides a comprehensive induction and ongoing training, designed to fully support you from day one and set you up for success in your new role.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of learning needs.

Assist the class teacher in delivering creative, inclusive lessons.

Support students in developing communication, confidence, and social skills.
*
Encourage independence through patience, understanding, and care.
*
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals.
*
Celebrate student achievements — big or small — and contribute to a positive school culture.
About You

Experience within education or SEN is beneficial but not essential — your attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn are what truly matters.
