Address: Riverwalk School, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP33 2PD Salary: £12.81 per hour Hours: Part Time. 31.5 hours per week, 8.45 am to 3.15 pm plus 1-hour training (Monday after school) and half an hour team meeting (Thursday after school) (half an hour unpaid lunch) Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible Reference: 8185 We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants (TA) who are dynamic and friendly, with a passion for improving outcomes and life experiences for our pupils in the school with SLD and PMLD needs. As part of a class-based team you will need to be creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND pupils across the school. You will certainly get your steps in as our site is quite expansive! You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one to one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND and complex behavioural needs. Requirements: We are looking for Teaching Assistant who: will have some knowledge about SEND is passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with complex needs and severe learning difficulties can be a good role model for students and fellow colleagues is prepared to use a range of strategies to support a diverse range of complex needs has strong interpersonal skills and innovative techniques (essential) can support each pupil to access a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs can support tasks relating to ‘real life’ experiences is passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils can adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines can maintain confidentiality has a desire to participate in school and trust CPD opportunities has an awareness of safeguarding is willing to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer.
