Job Title: Group IT Infrastructure Manager

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Group IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and evolve a modern, multi-site IT environment supporting over 300 users across international locations.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the resilience, security, and optimisation of core infrastructure services while driving innovation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership capability, overseeing infrastructure operations and delivering technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
You will lead a team of IT professionals, including a Service Desk function and 3rd Line Engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and service-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
-Act as a visible and engaged IT leader across multiple locations
-Partner with business departments to understand requirements and deliver proactive technology solutions
-Contribute to management meetings, providing strategic IT guidance aligned with organisational goals
-Support cross-functional operations during critical business periods
-Maintain high service standards while resolving challenges efficiently and creatively
Essential Skills & Experience
-Strong networking knowledge (CCNA-level or equivalent) including Cisco, Fortinet, or Ruckus environments
-Experience managing server infrastructure, storage solutions (SAN/NAS), and enterprise hardware
-Microsoft ecosystem expertise: Windows Server, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Windows 10/11, Virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V and VMware, Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
-Experience with VoIP and IP-based communication systems
-Backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, replication, failover technologies)
-Cybersecurity tools and frameworks including firewalls, endpoint protection, SIEM platforms, ISO 27001, and GDPR
Infrastructure & Operations Management
-Oversee daily IT operations including servers, software platforms, and network infrastructure
-Manage installation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise systems
-Lead procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of hardware and software
-Monitor performance and ensure optimal system availability through testing and troubleshooting
WAN Infrastructure & Security
-Manage and maintain resilient WAN connectivity across all sites
-Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity controls and security policies
-Proactively identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
-Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies
-Assess technology risks and implement mitigation plans
-Conduct regular testing of disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
Project Management
-Lead infrastructure projects including deployments, migrations, and system upgrades
-Align infrastructure initiatives with wider organisational technology roadmaps
-Develop project plans, manage resources, and deliver projects on time and within budget
Budget & Vendor Management
-Manage annual IT infrastructure budgets and track expenditure
-Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate contracts
-Ensure supplier performance meets agreed service level agreements (SLAs)
Team Leadership & Development
-Lead, mentor, and develop Helpdesk and 3rd Line Engineering teams
-Oversee service desk performance and customer satisfaction
-Promote a collaborative, learning-focused team culture
Technology Advancement
-Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
-Recommend and implement improvements to enhance IT capability and efficiency
-Align infrastructure strategy with long-term business growth plans
