We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 Specialist Diabetes Podiatrist who is forward‑thinking and keen to develop their clinical skills.
Hertfordshire Integrated Diabetes Service covers South and West Hertfordshire and provides podiatry care for people with diabetes who meet our service criteria.
You will be responsible for undertaking assessment, diagnosis and treatment of your own caseload across a number of community locations.
Base salary is negotiable and staff are expected to work at a range of agreed clinical sites within West Hertfordshire. We welcome full‑time and part‑time applicants.
Responsibilities
* Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with diabetes across community clinics, health centres and hospital sites.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in SystmOne.
* Participate in protected clinical supervision sessions, appraisal (PDP), and dedicated CPD time.
* Comply with the service’s quality and safety standards, including the provision of a comprehensive induction programme.
* Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
* Adhere to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and provide a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC Registered Podiatrist with a relevant clinical qualification to diploma and/or first degree level or equivalent.
* Certificate of Local Anaesthesia.
* Diabetes Foot Module qualification.
* RCOP Vascular Foot Module qualification.
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience treating patients with diabetes.
* Post‑graduate NHS experience.
* Experience using SystmOne.
* Evidence of postgraduate preceptorship.
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate.
* Strong organisational skills.
Contract and Working Pattern
Permanent contract. Working pattern: Full‑time or Part‑time.
Salary
£39,959 – £48,117 per annum, pro‑rata where applicable, plus a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary.

West Herts area – to be discussed at interview.
