This is a hands-on NOC role for someone who enjoys working close to the technology and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up.
You’ll be supporting small to mid-sized customer networks where your actions actually matter. This isn’t a hyperscale, button-pushing NOC — it’s a practical environment where you’ll troubleshoot real network issues, improve visibility, and help keep customer environments stable and secure.
The team values people who come from MSP backgrounds, are comfortable getting stuck in, and want exposure beyond just monitoring dashboards. If you enjoy networking first, infrastructure second, and learning as you go, this is a solid move.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and support customer networks within a NOC environment.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 switching, routing, and firewall-related issues.
• Respond to alerts and incidents, taking ownership through to resolution.
• Use monitoring tools including Auvik to improve visibility and fault resolution.
• Support SMB network environments using a range of firewall and switching vendors.
• Assist with infrastructure-related tasks where required.
• Follow ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
• Escalate issues appropriately while remaining hands-on where possible.
• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of monitoring and processes.
Skills / Must Have:
• Experience working with SMB networks, ideally in an MSP environment.
• Solid understanding of Layer 2 switching and basic networking concepts.
• Hands-on exposure to firewalls such as DrayTek, Sophos, WatchGuard, SonicWall, or Meraki.
• Comfortable working onsite 5 days per week in Maidenhead.
• Willingness to get hands dirty and help across networking and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with ITIL methodologies or structured support environments.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Auvik or similar monitoring platforms.
• Basic understanding of Azure networking.
• Exposure to SNMP-based monitoring (even if minimal).
• Broader infrastructure support experience.
Benefits:
• Stable, hands-on NOC environment with real technical exposure.
• Opportunity to broaden skills beyond pure monitoring.
• Close-knit team where contribution is visible and valued.
• Training and development support as skills progress.
Salary:
• £35,000 per annum.
