Earth Sciences, South Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3AN UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD Department of Earth Sciences 2x Postdoctoral Research Associate in Global Seismology The post holders will join the DEEPSCAPE group in the Department of Earth Sciences to work on the PRISM-MTZ project funded by NERC. This project aims to quantitatively image the bulk structure and discontinuity topographies of the mantle transition zone (MTZ), to quantify trade-offs between these and to deduce fluxes of heat and material across the MTZ. The successful candidates will hold or be close to completion of a PhD/DPhil in seismology (thesis must be submitted before an offer is made). They should have relevant experience in analysis and inversions of seismic data and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. They will also be expected to manage their own academic research and associated activities and have previous experience of contributing to publications. They must also have excellent communication skills, including the ability to present research proposals and results and represent the group at meetings. This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 30 months. (flexible start date between 1st Oct 2026 and 1st Jan 2027).
