An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Structural Engineer to join a leading consultancy delivering complex, high-security MOD and defence infrastructure projects across the UK.
The Role
You’ll lead structural design and project delivery across a portfolio of high-profile defence projects, working on both building structures and heavy civil engineering. This includes inspections, assessments, and detailed designs in secure and regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver structural engineering design for MOD projects
* Manage teams, budgets, and project programmes
* Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation
* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary teams
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and security protocols
Requirements
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Chartered status (CEng) with ICE or IStructE
* Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and UK design standards
* Experience in defence, nuclear, or similarly regulated sectors
* Eligible for or holding MOD Security Clearance (SC)
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
* Experience with seismically qualified structures or heavy civil works
* Background in digital engineering or BIM
