An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice located in the thriving town of Maidenhead.
This role offers the chance to join a friendly and supportive team within a modern, purpose-built clinic, with opportunities for both general practice and vets with a medical or consultation bias. The practice places strong emphasis on teamwork, clinical development, and delivering excellent patient and client care.

Located in a busy and growing area of Maidenhead, the clinic is modern, purpose-built, and designed to support efficient workflow and high clinical standards.
Facilities include:
1. 3 consultation rooms
2. Fully equipped operating theatre
3. Dedicated preparation room
4. Separate dog, cat, and exotics wards
5. Modern diagnostic and surgical equipment
6. Staff kitchen and break facilities
The Team
You will join a supportive and experienced team consisting of:
7. 4 Veterinary Surgeons (including experienced clinicians and a recent graduate)
8. 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, including a Head Nurse
9. A dedicated Practice Manager
10. A Student Veterinary Nurse
11. Veterinary Care Assistant and support colleagues
The team promotes a collaborative culture with weekly clinical meetings and regular whole-team discussions, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement in patient and client care.
The Role
This position offers a balanced and structured caseload with flexibility depending on clinical interests.
Veterinary surgeons benefit from 15-minute consultations as standard, with additional time available when required. The rota allows for a mix of consultation and surgical days, helping to maintain a varied and rewarding workload.
The role would suit:
12. An experienced general practice Veterinary Surgeon, or
13. A vet with a medical or consultation bias
Clinical development and professional interests are actively supported within the team.
Working Pattern
14. Full-time position
15. 4-day working week
16. 1 in 4 Saturdays (9:00am 6:00pm)
17. No out-of-hours or on-call requirements
18. Minimal sole charge
Structured rotas allow time for consultations, administration, and lunch breaks, helping to maintain a sustainable and balanced working day.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
19. Hold a BVSc or equivalent veterinary degree recognised in the UK
20. Be RCVS registered (or eligible)
21. Have experience working within small animal practice
22. Be confident performing consultations and routine surgery
23. Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
24. Have an interest in clinical development or specific medical areas
Salary & Benefits
25. Salary up to £65,000 (DOE)
26. No out-of-hours requirements
27. 28 days annual leave, rising to 33 days after 2 years of service
28. Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVA)
