Veterinary Surgeon Small Animal PracticeMaidenhead, BerkshireAn excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice located in the thriving town of Maidenhead.
This role offers the chance to join a friendly and supportive team within a modern, purpose-built clinic, with opportunities for both general practice and vets with a medical or consultation bias. The practice places strong emphasis on teamwork, clinical development, and delivering excellent patient and client care.

Located in a busy and growing area of Maidenhead, the clinic is modern, purpose-built, and designed to support efficient workflow and high clinical standards.

3 consultation roomsFully equipped operating theatreDedicated preparation roomSeparate dog, cat, and exotics wardsModern diagnostic and surgical equipmentStaff kitchen and break facilitiesThe TeamYou will join a supportive and experienced team consisting of:
4 Veterinary Surgeons (including experienced clinicians and a recent graduate)6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, including a Head NurseA dedicated Practice ManagerA Student Veterinary NurseVeterinary Care Assistant and support colleaguesThe team promotes a collaborative culture with weekly clinical meetings and regular whole-team discussions, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement in patient and client care.
The RoleThis position offers a balanced and structured caseload with flexibility depending on clinical interests.
Veterinary surgeons benefit from 15-minute consultations as standard, with additional time available when required. The rota allows for a mix of consultation and surgical days, helping to maintain a varied and rewarding workload.
The role would suit:
An experienced general practice Veterinary Surgeon, orA vet with a medical or consultation biasClinical development and professional interests are actively supported within the team.
Working PatternFull-time position4-day working week1 in 4 Saturdays (9:00am 6:00pm)No out-of-hours or on-call requirementsMinimal sole chargeStructured rotas allow time for consultations, administration, and lunch breaks, helping to maintain a sustainable and balanced working day.
Candidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will:
Hold a BVSc or equivalent veterinary degree recognised in the UKBe RCVS registered (or eligible)Have experience working within small animal practiceBe confident performing consultations and routine surgeryDemonstrate strong communication and teamwork skillsHave an interest in clinical development or specific medical areasSalary & BenefitsSalary up to £65,000 (DOE)No out-of-hours requirements28 days annual leave, rising to 33 days after 2 years of servicePaid professional memberships (RCVS, BVA)Generous CPD allowance with support for certificatesLife assurance (4x annual salary)Contributory pension schemeRelocation allowance availableCycle to work schemeEmployee reward platform with retail and lifestyle discountsLocationLocated in Maidenhead, the practice benefits from excellent transport links and access to a range of surrounding towns and countryside across Berkshire and the wider Thames Valley region.
