OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To program, set and manufacture small-batch aerospace components. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Responsible for setting/operating and manufacturing a variety of small-batch components from engineering drawings to within tight limits, Responsible for manufacturing all components within the agreed timescales, Responsible for setting a variety of CNC machine tools for operators as and when required, Responsible for using a wide range of measuring equipment to check small-batch components after manufacture, Responsible for mentoring new staff as required, Responsible for maintaining the agreed quality rating at all times, Responsible for making sure that manufactured product is suitably protected for transit, Responsible for working in the order of the manufacturing plan at all times, Responsible for making sure that all manufacturing paper work is filled out correctly, Responsible for carrying out all tasks allocated by the Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner, Responsible for ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained at all times, To support team members with other tasks as and when required, To help create and maintain a safe working environment and observe the published Health & Safety procedures, To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant, when required. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Extensive CNC milling experience Experience in setting up CNC milling machines (minimum 3-axis) Ability to read engineering drawings, both metric and imperial, and be able to convert between both with ease Proficient in the use of diverse inspection and measurement tools Ability to safely and competently deburr metallic components Computer literate and methodical Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
