We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Forensic Submission Officer in our Joint Scientific Investigation Unit. Could you be who we are looking

The Joint Scientific Support Unit (JSIU) has created an exciting new opportunity for a Forensic Submissions Officer. The role will be based mainly at the JSIU Police Headquarters Bridgend, however the successful applicant may be required to travel around the force, region, and cross border to other forces as and when required.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
* Provide specialist advice and guidance on non-routine and escalated, complex issues related to area of work.
* Receive and respond to enquiries from customers, including complex and escalated queries.
* Analyse and present management information to senior managers and Chief Officers.
* Act as a recognised source of technical/investigative expertise within own area.
* Generate original ideas and innovative solutions through the provision of expert knowledge and advice.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
Essential:
* Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft applications.
* Must be able to interpret complex forensic reports and statements.
* Must be able to prepare written report to exacting standards
Desirable:
* Welsh Language Level 2 - Can understand the essence of a conversation in Welsh and can convey basic information and respond to simple requests in Welsh.
* Can use Welsh to transfer telephone calls.
* Can introduce oneself and others by name, role, and location/organisation.
* Can contribute to a meeting partly in Welsh.
This role is not suitable for part time/job share workers.
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to RV vetting.
