Description Administrative assistant supports the engineering department in day-to-day work with a start to finish approach encompassing project creation, document administration and project billing. The role will also involve both internal and external client interactions with a need for proactive thought and action. We are looking for independent thinkers motivated to ask questions whenever in doubt and driven to help strengthen a successful team of Administrators and Engineers. This is a 14 months Fixed Term Contract for Mat cover. What You Will Do: Be part of a welcoming team of Administrators under the direction of an Engineering Coordinator. Helps administer incoming work through project creation and client communication. Responsible for assisting with the administration of client emails and submissions, whilst taking the initiative to speak to clients by phone whenever possible to streamline communication. Ensures proper billing actions are taken and processes followed to support the Engineering Coordinator. Work with the ABS Client Portal and gain an understanding of internal processes required to maintain a timely workflow and educate clients in Portal functionality. Proactively asks questions whenever necessary. Supports colleagues with surplus work when required. What You Will Need: Education and Experience 0‒2 years of previous related experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to problems. Good command of the English language. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to work well with others. A working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management Systems (internal candidates only) Valid right to work in the UK Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to a department Manager, Supervisor or above.
