We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Specialist (Regulatory Relations & Advice) to join our Risk & Compliance team.
The Compliance Specialist (Regulatory Relations & Advice) is responsible for supporting regulatory interactions and engagement, creating a Centre of Excellence model to be applied across the Group. The role includes actively managing and overseeing the control of Regulatory Horizon Scanning activities, working collaboratively across the wider Group Compliance and business stakeholders to assess regulatory developments impacting the firm. In addition, this role supports key regulatory notifications, applications, ad hoc requests and regular reporting requirements. This encompasses deliverables under the FCA Senior Manager & Certification Regime (SMCR) and maintenance of Appointed Representatives on the FCA Register.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day compliance support to the business, answering regulatory or policy-related queries.
* Assist in identifying, assessing, and tracking compliance risks and issues.
* Participate in regulatory change reviews and assist in updating internal processes accordingly.
* Support preparation for internal and external audits or regulatory inquiries.
* Deliver or support compliance training and awareness activities.
* Contribute to incident investigations and help ensure accurate and timely issue resolution.
* Collaborate with other control functions (Risk, Legal, Audit, Data Privacy) to ensure coordinated compliance management.
Skills and Experience Required
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements to advise internal policy expectations.
* Experience in providing guidance on interpretation of laws, regulations, and rules that impact the company’s operations.
* Analytically minded, able to utilise compliance data for reporting and risk insights.
* Experience creating regulatory reporting data.
* Understanding of FCA Handbook including ICOBS, SYSC, PRIN, Consumer Duty SMCR and COCON is essential.
* Understanding of FCA Reporting requirements.
* Experience in an insurance or financial service regulatory environment.
