Rostering Coordinator - Clerk
Role Overview
The Local Authority is seeking a reliable and well-organised Rostering Coordinator - Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support to workforce rostering across local authority-led services. The role will support the day-to-day maintenance of staff rotas, ensuring accurate records, effective communication, and continuity of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update staff rotas in line with service requirements
Input and amend rota information accurately on electronic systems
Record and process sickness, annual leave, and other absences
Support service managers with day-to-day staffing coordination
Assist with booking bank and agency staff as directed
Respond to rota queries from staff in a timely and professional manner
Ensure accurate record-keeping for attendance, hours worked, and timesheets
Support compliance with working time regulations and local authority policies
Escalate staffing issues or rota gaps to the appropriate manager
Provide general clerical and administrative support to the service
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage routine tasks alongside competing priorities
Confident written and verbal communication skills
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable Criteria
Experience working in local authority, social care, or community services
Experience using electronic rostering or scheduling systems
Understanding of basic workforce or rota processes
