Responsibilities
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will diagnose, treat, and manage communication and swallowing disorders across all ages. Your expertise will cover a broad range of skills aimed at enhancing speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing functions. Your primary responsibilities include:
1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized assessments, clinical observations, and diagnostic tools to identify communication and swallowing challenges, and develop accurate diagnoses.
2. Treatment Planning and Intervention: Create personalized treatment plans and deliver evidence-based therapy sessions targeting speech production, language comprehension and expression, social communication, voice, and swallowing.
3. Therapeutic Interventions: Implement various therapies such as articulation drills, language exercises, voice therapy, fluency strategies, and management protocols, providing personalized feedback to support skill development.
4. Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): Assess and implement AAC systems and devices, collaborating with patients, families, and caregivers to customize solutions that improve communication and participation.
5. Dysphagia Management: Evaluate and treat swallowing disorders through assessments, exercises, diet modifications, and rehabilitation techniques to ensure safe swallowing and nutritional intake.
Qualifications
* Master’s Degree in an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
* Current license/certification in the state of practice
