The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established and highly skilled engineering team at a technically advanced, highly regulated site in Cramlington.
This role is perfect for a hands-on, mechanically minded engineer who thrives in a varied environment and enjoys taking ownership of maintenance activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of critical site operations, working across a diverse range of plant and systems.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical building services systems, including:
Steam boilers and steam/condensate systems
Chilled water systems
Compressed air systems
Pumps and associated plant
Air handling units (AHUs)
BMS-linked mechanical equipment
Your duties will include:
Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across site assets
Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs
Identifying opportunities for improvements and remedial works
Updating maintenance records within the CMMS system
Supporting permit-to-work procedures
Supervising specialist subcontractors
Maintaining accurate compliance and asset documentation
Supporting safety inspections and risk assessments
Ensuring documentation aligns with GxP standards where required
About You
You will have experience in a mechanical maintenance or engineering environment and be confident working across multiple systems within a live site.
You'll also be:
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused
Experienced or confident in supervising contractors
A strong communicator with the ability to engage site stakeholders
Willing to participate in a 1-in-4 on-call rota
