About the Trust
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides non-emergency patient transport services for patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided due to medical condition or clinical need.
Our highly skilled staff provide essential care to patients in the community and transfer patients to hospital or a place of care when needed. We work alongside other emergency services to ensure public safety and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver 24/7 accident and emergency services and administer the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013 to improve access to local NHS services in England.
