This opportunity is open to candidates with specialty interests in gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, renal medicine, cardiology, elderly care, and stroke medicine, in addition to contributions to acute medical take. Our acute medical take will be based in ED, catered to by 2 Medical Consultants from 8:30-9:30 pm, followed by a half day. There are 4 blocks per quarter (each block: 2 long days and 2 half days). Your job plan can be designed around a specialty interest, as we aim to have a diverse and dynamic team to provide excellent and comprehensive patient care.
The job plan will involve working prospectively, and it is expected that the post-holder will be flexible with working hours within the agreed contract. The Consultant GIM will work on-site at NGH for now, with future opportunities to work across sites (KGH). A formal job plan will be mutually agreed upon between the appointee and the Clinical Lead, on behalf of the Medical Director, within three months of the start date. The initial three-month plan will be provisional. The job plan will outline responsibilities for work, teaching, research, education, and management, providing a clear schedule of commitments both internal and external. It will include personal objectives linked to wider service goals, support needed to fulfill the plan, and development of objectives.
