The Role
As a Manufacturing Operative at Clayton Glass, you will play an essential role in the manufacturing and processing of high-quality glass products. Your responsibilities will include supporting our production processes, ensuring top-notch quality, and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operating Machinery: You will be responsible for operating various machines involved in cutting, shaping, and processing glass. This includes following operational instructions and adhering to safety guidelines.
* Handling and Processing Glass: Safely loading and unloading glass onto production lines or machines, ensuring that glass sheets or components are handled with care to avoid damage.
* Quality Control: Conducting quality checks on finished glass products to identify any defects, such as cracks or chips, and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
* Assembly and Packaging: Assisting with the assembly of glass units, such as double glazing, and packaging products for safe transportation or further production stages.
* Safety and Maintenance: Ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also conduct basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any faults or malfunctions.
* Material Handling: Moving raw materials to the production area and organizing inventory as needed to keep the production process flowing smoothly.
* General Production Support: Working closely with your team to meet production targets, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting various tasks as needed to ensure an efficient workflow.
Essential Criteria:

* Able to follow instructions accurately and perform tasks diligently.
* Punctual, with a strong attendance record, and fully committed to your shift hours.
* Manual dexterity. Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and standing.
Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria:
* Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
* Flexibility in working hours, with the ability to work night shifts if required.

Additional Information:
· Location: Clayton Glass, 6 James Street, Righead Industrial Estate, Bellshill, ML4 3LU
· Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week with rotating shifts.
* Week 1: Monday – Friday, 06:00 - 15:00 (finishing at 14:30 on Fridays).
* Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 14:00-23:00. Friday 12:30 - 21:00
· Salary: £ £ per annum
