Here at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust we have an exciting opportunity for a full time position in the cardiac device service. We are a joint service that offers cardiac, respiratory and sleep investigations working from Salford Royal, 5 diagnostic spokes and 1 community diagnostic hub.
The successful candidate will be working towards Heart Rhythm Society accreditation. Responsibilities
Specialist Cardiac Physiologist is required to work without supervision as a competent practitioner performing a range of specialised investigations. Duties will include:
* Supporting pacemaker/ILR implantation, device follow ups and a range of routine investigations.
* Assisting the Pacemaker Service Lead, administering the service and deputising when necessary.
* Teaching and supervising junior staff.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Advanced knowledge/skills in Cardiology for direct and high-quality care.
* Assisting during pacemaker implantation, performing comprehensive tests and helping doctors with pacemaker prescription and model selection.
* Assisting during ILR procedures.
* Acting as lead physiologist in pacemaker follow-up clinics, interpreting results, reprogramming pacemakers including complex devices.
* Training and accredited under the Resuscitation Council (UK) and capable of providing Immediate Life Support (ILS) cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as required.
