Electrical Shift Engineer
Equans UK & Ireland – We are seeking an Electrical Shift Engineer for the Media City contract in Salford. This is a permanent full‑time role with a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern (07:00‑19:00) and a 12‑hour on‑site period with a 1‑hour lunch.
Scope of the Role
The Electrical Shift Engineer will provide all‑round engineering support, maintain building infrastructure, coordinate day‑to‑day activities, and ensure 100% uptime. Responsibilities include:
* Act as the coordination point for on‑site activities and FM management.
* Run operations whilst on duty, including supervising night shift engineers and subcontractors.
* Manage risk assessments, method statements, and point‑of‑work risk assessments.
* Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and record relevant documents.
* Handle reactive callouts on critical systems.
* Conduct compliance testing and minor works to JSP375 standard.
* Perform minor installation works and testing.
* Keep up to date with industry developments and drive innovation.
Impact
The role is client‑forward facing and requires excellent communication skills to meet operational and contractual obligations and mitigate risk to Equans.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* City and Guilds training.
* Strong communication skills.
* Good experience of electrical maintenance and repairs.
* Previous AP/AE experience and qualifications preferred but not essential.
