Job Description
The Role
The fundamental purpose of this crucial role is to ensure Skills Alliance operate with a compliant and commercially viable approach to all business activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of the business’s legal compliance requirements and will be supporting with contractual matters relating to the company across our international offices.
A key responsibility is to ensure that every candidate is on-boarded compliantly with speed and precision prior to the start of their assignment. In addition, the successful Applicant will be responsible to ensure GDPR compliance across all businesses.
The Compliance Administrator will report directly to the Compliance and HR Director.
Responsibilities
Compliance Framework & Risk Management
* Assist in developing and maintaining compliance protocols, processes and documentation for US, UK and Rest of World operations
* Support the review of candidate engagement structures including PAYE, Umbrella and international contractor models
* Conduct compliance checks to ensure correct worker classification and engagement models are applied in line with regulatory requirements
Candidate Onboarding & Assignment Compliance
* Obtain and review contractor documentation prior to assignment confirmation
* Verify right-to-work documentation and eligibility checks in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Ensure all candidate documentation required for compliance purposes is obtained prior to the candidate start date
* Liaise with candidates via email/phone to obtain outstanding documentation and resolve compliance queries
* Ensure onboarding processes meet both internal standards and client contractual requirements
* Support the sign-off of candidate compliance packs prior to assignment commencement
* Liaise directly with our MSP point of contracts to ensure certificate of completion is delivered and approved for each candidate prior to assignment start
Compliance Monitoring & Auditing
* Conduct regular CRM and compliance audits to ensure documentation accuracy, completeness and adherence to framework standards
* Identify potential compliance risks and escalate where appropriate
Contractor Lifecycle management
* Work closely with sales teams to ensure candidate extensions, assignment changes and off-boarding processes are completed compliantly
* Maintain accurate compliance records throughout the contractor engagement life cycle including obtaining any expired documentation and IR35 audits
Data Protection & Governance
* Support Data compliance across the business including data retention, subject access requests and right-to-be-forgotten requests
* Ensure candidate data is managed and stored in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Process improvement
* Support implementation of new compliance initiatives, systems and projects across the business
Skills/Experience Required
* Degree educated with strong commercial awareness
* Strong understanding of recruitment lifecycle processes within a staffing environment
* Compliance knowledge of temp staffing in US and EU preferred
* Experience of contractor compliance and administration
* Proven history, balancing compliance and commercial approaches to business
* Knowledge of global engagement processes for professional contractors
* Experience using CRM systems (Mercury desirable)
* Good understanding of contract principles and recruitment processes
* Must be extremely organised, efficient and able to multi-task
* Strong communication skills both written and verbal, including conflict management
* Good analytical skills and attention to detail
* A proven track record of proactive approaches to support process improvement and rolling out new projects
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot desirable
* Competent in Microsoft office suite tools in particular Microsoft excel
