We have never been a better time to join the Trust’s Fleet and Equipment team as a Vehicle Preparation Operative (VPO). Our Ambulance Vehicle Preparation team plays a vital role in ensuring our front line crews are ready and able to respond to emergency situations by preparing our vehicle fleet and equipment to high standards.
The role of the VPO is also a gateway to the organisation with opportunities to develop you career with us either within the Fleet and Equipment team or the wider Trust in both patient‑facing and a variety of support roles.
We offer full‑time (average 37.5 hours per week) and part‑time hours across a 24‑hour, 7‑day schedule including days, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Unsocial hours payments will be applicable in addition to the basic salary for night and weekend working.
The role requires post holders to hold a current full driving licence. C1 category is preferred.
Responsibilities
* Process ambulances in a prescribed and controlled way that ensures each ambulance is ready to treat patients.
* Perform detailed cleaning and infection prevention & control activities.
* Check and inspect medical devices, restock consumables, refuel and drive vehicles across various locations.
Qualifications
* Current full driving licence (C1 category preferred).
* Experience in cleaning, infection control or vehicle preparation is desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety and quality standards.
