Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
* Assist with meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen supervisor
* Support the culinary team in cooking and plating dishes to ensure high-quality presentation
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
* Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times
* Help with serving meals during busy service periods, ensuring customer satisfaction
* Participate in stock management by assisting with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed
* Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience or culinary experience is preferred but not essential
* Familiarity with food safety practices and hygiene standards
* Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques
* Experience in catering or restaurant environments is a plus
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
* A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills in the culinary field
