Overview
Our Kitchen Assistants/Team Members are responsible for preparing our food offering to the highest quality and standards. Their role is crucial in maintaining a smooth and efficient operation in the kitchen.
What you'll do
* Ensure that the kitchen is set up and ready for each service with the right amount of prepared Pasta Sauces and other ingredients to support quick service while minimising waste. Include preparing par levels in the pre-prepared cold delivery fridge.
* Wear a full smart clean uniform to the brand standard at all times whilst on shift and protective clothing as required.
* Adhere to the Pasta Evangelists Standard to ensure Pasta and other products are kept to the highest possible standard for product quality.
* Keep the kitchen exceptionally clean and compliant with all Health and Safety and Quality regulations.
* Monitor availability and inform the Team Leaders and wider team in advance.
* Document and record information on food as per company policy, ensure effective date labelling, and follow stock rotation principles (FIFO).
* Maintain all par levels and accurately record any food wastage.
* Utilise the SOP to maximise the quality and speed of food readiness.
* Ensure all equipment (fridges, pasta boiler, ovens, microwaves, etc.) has correct temperature records and follows safe food handling procedures.
* Maintain equipment to the SOP standard (kitchen management system, ovens, fridges, freezers, etc.).
* Prepare and cook food to the highest standards in line with Pasta Evangelist’s requirements as outlined in the “How to Cards.”
* Prepare food quickly and in the correct order, following the How to Card standard and all SOPs.
* Check deliveries into the store and report any issues to the Team Leader/Manager. Ensure all deliveries are received and stored appropriately with proper storage requirements adhered to.
* Operate the wash-up area effectively and ensure any used equipment is thoroughly cleaned.
* Use correct signage while cleaning is taking place.
* Dispose of rubbish correctly at all times in line with company waste management processes, recycling, and Local Authority requirements.
* Report any equipment defects promptly to the Team Leader or Area Manager.
* Follow close-down kitchen procedures to keep the kitchen clean and prepared for the next shift.
* Regularly organise pest checks and report any concerns to the Team Leader and higher management.
Who are you
* You have knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques to prevent foodborne illnesses (preferable).
* You are familiar with basic culinary techniques such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients.
* You can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
* You are meticulous and detail‑oriented when it comes to food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen organization.
* You can work well as part of a team, communicate effectively with colleagues, and follow instructions from the Team Leader and/or Area Manager.
* You are willing to adapt to changing situations, work schedules, and tasks as required in a dynamic kitchen environment.
