Overview
Within the Construction environment, responsibilities include managing the delivery and distribution of materials to the site, ensuring health and safety, and supporting site operations. The role works on around 400 developments across the UK, including brownfield sites and adaptations of existing buildings.
Responsibilities
* Report to the Site Manager and manage/coordinate material deliveries and distribution in line with the construction programme
* Alert Site Manager to shortages of blocks, bricks, or silo mix to avoid delays
* Check deliveries for quality and quantity; record any defective or short deliveries with the Materials Controller where applicable
* Store and label materials correctly in designated areas; follow standard compound setup
* Ensure waste materials go to the correct site skips and support waste control
* Inform Site Manager/Assistant Site Manager of defective/damaged materials when loading out
* Inspect the forklift daily for maintenance; document weekly inspections in the Plant Register
* Keep the forklift clean and roadworthy; carry out routine maintenance
* Inspect plant attachments weekly and record in the Plant Register
* Adhere to safe working practices and report issues promptly to the site manager
* Load materials so loading bay gates can be closed safely
* Carry out labouring duties as required
What You’ll Need
* Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative appropriately
* Previous experience on large domestic volume house building sites
* FLT driver’s licence and a full UK driving licence
* Relevant Health and Safety Awareness
* Current appropriate CSCS or partner scheme card
