TheLeeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trusts Medical Illustration Service is lookingto appoint a full time permanent, Medical Illustration (higher level) SupportWorker to become part of our team working within Medical Illustration.
WithinMedical Illustration we provide a range of photography, design, video,illustration, ophthalmic imaging and services to the Trust as well as toexternal clients.
Inorder to apply for this post it is essential that you have already attainedall of the essential criteria in the person specification including:
Level 3 or equivalent health carerelated qualification or equivalentexperience
Significant experience of workingwithin a healthcare setting delivering personal and clinical care, and:
Utilisation of planning andorganisational skills

Principlesof infection control
Customerrelations
Emergencyprocedures
Ideallyyou will be able to hit the ground running and use the skills you havealready obtained to undertake ophthalmic imaging to our standard operatingprocedures

Main duties of the job
Undertake a range of ophthalmicimaging procedures including V/As, retinal + corneal OCT, tomography,widefield imaging and specular microscopy.
Provide routine information topatients, communicating to patients the importance of attending appointments.
Receive information from patientsand update EPR systems accordingly
Maintain a safe workingenvironment, reporting incidents, accidents, complaints
A frequent requirement of handlingand positioning of patients in a wheelchair
Understand the need to maintain andrespect patient confidentiality
Participate in in-servicetraining/mandatory training annually
Participate in annual performanceappraisal
Undertake duties on different sitesas required by service demands
Supportteam members with appropriate clinical activities
Assist in the welcome and receptionof patients into the clinical area
Update information systems e.g. JMSPAS MIM PPM+
Undertake the administration worksupporting care pathways within the service
Following training and assessment,will undertake ophthalmic imaging procedures which requires a high degree ofaccuracy.
Working overtime, sometimes atshort notice, to provide cover
Developgood working relationship
Participate in appropriate andrelevant communications networks
Ensure the maintenance of goodrelationships, communications and teamwork with all disciplines within theward / department.

Job responsibilities
The jobholder will be activelyinvolved in providing direct and indirect care for patients in support ofClinical Photographers and Ophthalmic Imaging Staff (Healthcare scientists).The jobholder will be expected to work without supervision.
The jobholder will contribute tothe maintenance of an environment for effective care.
Thejobholder will work within Medical Illustration which is delivered acrossLeeds at the acute hospital sites and community locations, including non-LTHTsites.
Person Specification
Experience
* Significant experience of working within a healthcare setting delivering personal and clinical care.
* Utilisation of planning and organisational skills
* Insight into roles responsibilities of post.
* Basic IT skills.
* Have the Knowledge and Understanding of the following:
* Principles of infection control, Customer relations, Maintaining a safe environment, Emergency procedures
* Significant experience of working within ophthalmic imaging or Medical Illustration
Qualifications
* NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent health care related qualification or equivalent experience or in the absence of this
* Willing to undergo training as required
* Basic skills Maths and English Level 2 (equivalent of GCSE 4-9 (A*-C)).
