Are you passionate about urban wildlife and community engagement? We're seeking a dynamic Wilder Connections Officer to co-lead Wilding Chesterfield, an inspiring community-driven project focused on urban species recovery.
In this role, you'll empower the people of Chesterfield to take meaningful action, transforming our city into a thriving habitat for swifts, bats, hedgehogs, and pollinators. You'll work collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners to drive urban nature recovery through a community organising approach.
Partnering closely with the Urban Rewilding Programme Officer and the Communities & Connections team, you'll deliver a vibrant programme of events, activities, and projects designed to excite and inform people about urban wildlife. You'll inspire them to take action in their gardens, school grounds, and local green spaces, all in alignment with our Wilder2023 strategy. Together, we'll create a richer, more biodiverse Chesterfield where people and wildlife thrive.
To be successful you'll:
* Be passionate about working in collaboration to enable and empower communities to make Chesterfield a thriving town for people and wildlife.
* Be curious and creative, exploring new ways to connect communities with nature on their doorstep, and co-create nature recovery projects that inspire communities to take action.
* Be courageous, standing up for what is right and challenging yourself and others to reimagine how people can deliver transformative change for nature.
What we can offer you:
* Flexible working options, including a 9-day working fortnight with a non-working Friday every fortnight.
* 33 days annual leave including bank holidays, plus festive shutdown days between Christmas and New Year.
* Climate Perks (extra leave for using green, sustainable transport).
* 9.5% employer pension contribution.
* Electric bike and car salary-sacrifice schemes.
* Employee Assistance Programme.
* Life Assurance Scheme.
* Personalised Development programme.
* A multidisciplinary environment with diverse projects to develop your skills.
* A close-knit, friendly, and supportive team with a relaxed office atmosphere.
