Degree Apprentice BIM Technician - 2026 - London

Our apprenticeship programme is a great opportunity to study towards a college or university qualification while putting everything you have learnt into action through on-the-job training. We are looking for a Trainee BIM (Building Information Modelling) Technician to join our HS2 team. We will support you to complete vocational training and help to build your skills in the use of BIM and digital engineering tools.
What you'll do:
1. Review of consultant Building Information Models (visual interrogation & detailed interrogation utilising specialist software)
2. Production of clash detection reports within specialist software. (Itwins or Navis)
3. Attend BIM Design Review Meetings to discuss / review clashes identified within combined BIM and
4. Production of conceptual & detailed model (Architectural and Structural BIM’s) for internal and external purposes
5. Presentation visualisations of whole or elements of scheme, by using power BI.
What you'll bring to the role:
6. Ideally, A Levels including Maths or Physics or a Level 3 BTEC in a STEM subject.
7. 5 GCSEs at Grades 4-9 including Maths (Grade 6-9), English and Science or their equivalent.
8. You will need to be comfortable with Maths and Physics as engineering is built on these fundamental skills
9. Thrive in a collaborative environment where your contributions are valued and celebrated
10. Dependable team player who actively supports and promotes collective success
11. Inquisitive and driven by a passion to grow and innovate
12. You must have lived in the UK in the last 3 years and have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for an apprenticeship. We are not able to proceed with applications that require visa sponsorship.
13. We are not able to proceed with applications from candidates that have already achieved a degree in a similar discipline.
What qualification will you be studying towards?
You will be studying a Level 4 - 6 BIM / Civil Engineering qualification at a local apprenticeship provider.
