Job Purpose:
To provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex Learning Disabilities in a residential setting. This role involves leading by example, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of young people while guiding and supporting the staff team to deliver consistent and therapeutic care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Child-Centred Care
* Skilled in supporting children with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, using a trauma-informed and child-centred approach.
* Ensure that each childs physical, emotional, and social needs are met in line with their individual care plan.
* Support children in managing challenging behaviours, promoting resilience, independence, and positive outcomes.
* Experience in working with children with non-verbal communication, speech and language delays, and alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton, AAC).
* Understanding of sensory processing differences and how to adapt environments and routines to meet individual sensory needs.
