We're now seeking a motivated and detail-driven Finance Controller to join us at a pivotal stage in our development.
This role is ideal for a finance professional who is eager to gain hands on experience while driving meaningful business improvement. The successful candidate will play a vital role in identifying and delivering financial efficiencies across the organisation, working in line with agreed KPIs and developing a strong understanding of business acumen .
Please note: This is a full-time, office-based role in Chester. On-site presence is essential to support our teams effectively and collaborate across the organisation.

Your Role as Finance Controller:
Initial priorities (first 3–6 months):
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
* Support monthly bank reconciliation and payroll submission
* Assist with budget planning meetings and diary coordination
* Provide support for month-end and year-end reporting
* Help prepare workforce and financial KPIs
* Ensure compliance with financial procedures and GDPR
As the role evolves, responsibilities will include:
* Identifying and implementing financial efficiencies across the business
* Supporting strategic planning and financial forecasting
* Delivering insights to improve financial systems and controls
* Assisting with internal audits and compliance reviews
* Driving performance aligned with agreed KPIs
* Developing business acumen to support commercial growth
What You'll Bring:
* Strong academic background (Maths and English GCSE level 4/C or above)
* A degree in accounting or finance related subject.
* Experience in bookkeeping or financial administration (preferred)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Xero.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* A proactive, team-oriented mindset and a drive to learn and develop
* Commitment to confidentiality and professional standards
