Electrical Contracts Manager

Overview
JDR is working in partnership with a well-established organisation within the construction sector to recruit an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, our client is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong leadership and organisational skills to oversee the successful delivery of multiple electrical projects.
This role will involve managing projects across Northern Ireland, with occasional cross-border work in the Republic of Ireland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Contract Delivery
* Deliver multiple electrical projects simultaneously within agreed scope, programme, and budget
* Ensure all works are completed to a high technical and quality standard
* Prepare and manage:
o Project initiation documentation
o Project programmes and schedules
o Project budgets
o Health & Safety documentation
Commercial & Contract Management
* Oversee contract administration including:
o Issuing purchase orders
o Managing applications for payment
o Controlling variations and changes
* Monitor financial performance across projects and ensure cost control
Stakeholder & Client Management
* Maintain strong working relationships with:
o Clients
o Subcontractors
o Internal teams
* Attend site and office-based meetings to review progress, challenges, and resolutions
* Provide regular reports to senior management
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure full compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory standards
* Promote and maintain high health & safety standards across all projects
Leadership & Coordination
* Lead and manage project teams, site managers, and subcontractors
* Coordinate resources effectively to meet project deadlines
* Drive performance and ensure successful project outcomes
Requirements
Experience
* Minimum 3+ years' experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager
* Experience delivering multiple electrical projects
* Experience within an M&E or electrical contracting environment
* Experience working within Northern Ireland is desirable
Qualifications
* Electrical qualification preferred (e.g. NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent)
Skills & Competencies
* Strong leadership and team management ability
* Commercial awareness with experience in budgeting and cost control
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Solid understanding of electrical systems and installations
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
* Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Additional Information
* Based in Belfast office with regular site visits required
* Projects primarily across Northern Ireland with some travel to ROI
* Full UK driving licence required
