Hours: Full time (core hours 8:30 am–4:40 pm, Monday–Friday)

Salary: up to £41,137 per year (depending on experience and qualifications) plus £3,000 subject‑lead allowance
This position is part of Esland’s new SEN school opening in September 2026, supporting vulnerable young people aged 8–18 with SEND and SEMH needs.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects, with a particular emphasis on English
* Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
* Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies
* Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements
Essential:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
* A minimum of 2 years post‑graduation experience
* Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
* Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress tracking
* Excellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Desirable:
* Subject/department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
* Experience teaching across alternative subjects and willingness to support other departments as the team grows
