Personal Care Assistant (PA/Carer) – 16 hours per week
We are looking for a caring, reliable Personal Care Assistant to support a 23-year-old woman who uses a wheelchair and receives a personal health budget.
Hours
* 16 hours per week (2 days)
* Additional hours available to cover sickness and holidays
* Occasional 24-hour overnight support (with set sleep-in rate)
About the role
You'll be supporting with day-to-day living, including:
* Personal care
* Shopping
* Social and leisure activities
She leads a busy and varied lifestyle. So far this year she has enjoyed:
* Accessible adventure weekends at Bendrigg Trust
* Outdoor rock climbing with Anyone Can
* Multiple concerts and live events
* Trips to museums, the seaside, bingo, and zoos
She enjoys climbing, walking, bingo, and evenings out – so no two days are the same There may also be opportunities to support with short breaks and nights away once trust is built.
Important to know
She does experience seizures, and can have emotional outbursts on occasion. Full training and guidance will be provided so you feel confident and supported in managing these safely.
Requirements
* Full, clean driving licence is an advantage (any points or claims must be declared, as insurance checks will be completed)
* Kind, trustworthy, and reliable
* Willingness to learn and undertake training
* Enhanced DBS check for Calderdale (applied for if not already in place)
Pay
* £12.72 per hour
