Job Description
Please note this a 3 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 6am - 3:30pm OR 2pm - 11:30pm. 2 weeks on days, and 2 days on evenings.
As a Collections Driver, you will make collections of food, ambient and water samples from customers around the UK and return them to the Grimsby laboratory.
* Make collections of ambient and chilled and water samples from water collection points and customer’s premises throughout the UK to a pre-planned regional route in a timely manner by using a company vehicle.
* Carefully handle the customer’s samples to ensure they are stowed appropriately within the vehicle.
* Respond positively to route changes that the company feels reasonable for the driver to complete.
* Ensure all paperwork is completed with a high degree of accuracy, with recording of temperature and time records on a daily record sheet and reporting into the Logistics Management team
* Ensure all information is inputted onto the company tablet where required.
* Keep collection storage rooms clean and tidy at all times
* Clean fridges and spillages where required
* Ensure bottle stocks are sufficient within the drop offs
* Replace and report on faulty probes within fridge units at drop offs
* Ensure collections are returned to site safely and securely.
* To communicate on a regular basis with the other driver, making them aware of any delays to the meeting time or place.
* Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks, oil, water etc and reporting any defects in a timely manner to the logistics manager.
* Report accidents and breakdowns.
* Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when unattended.
* Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
* Take all reasonable action to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, equipment, goods, fellow employees and other road users.
* Promote a professional image of the Company.
Qualifications
* The vehicle is to be parked overnight at the normal place of work and any off duty periods unless previously agreed otherwise with the management team.
* Driving experience.
* Good geographical knowledge.
* Attention to detail.
* Enthusiastic.
