Offer description

Make an impact on NHS finance and governance learning. We’re expanding HFMA's education content team and are looking for a qualified accountant and talented writer to join us as soon as possible.

To succeed, you’ll combine technical credibility with editorial skill:

* Write exceptionally well and edit with precision
* Bring up-to-date knowledge of NHS finance and governance
* Be curious, analytical and confident challenging unclear thinking.

HFMA’s education content team has a strong reputation for producing high-quality online learning for NHS staff, including finance teams. Our portfolio spans a wide range of topics, from health inequalities to value and wider system working.

About the role

Supporting and deputising for the Technical Editor (Education), you’ll create, review and update online learning and related resources - making sure everything we publish is accurate, accessible and genuinely useful in practice.

You’ll be comfortable turning complex, technical issues into clear, concise, well-structured learning.

You’ll help review and refresh the HFMA’s online learning portfolio – across the range of fundamental self-study courses and enhanced insights to our flagship publication, the HFMA guide to NHS finance. This includes:

* Maintaining current knowledge of NHS finance and governance
* Carrying out independent desktop research
* Reading, interpreting and applying existing guidance
* Working with subject matter experts
* Influencing and collaborating with the wider education team.

You will also lead the HFMA’s online learning content development for commercial clients, managing the development process as well as creating content.

Interested? Full details and how to apply: click here.

If you would like an informal discussion, please contact:

Sarah Bence, the HFMA’s Technical Editor (Education), sarah.bence@hfma.org.uk or Stephanie Brown, Head of Education and Partnerships, stephanie.brown@hfma.org.uk

You’ll have excellent written communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to undertake independent research.

You’ll be a collaborative team member, able to work positively with colleagues and tutors to produce consistently high-quality, publishable content.

We’re looking for a qualified accountant with a strong general knowledge of NHS finance and governance. Experience or interest in health inequalities, value, management skills and the devolved nations is particularly welcome.
