We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Manager for our busy BCA Thurleigh site. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful and high-volume de-fleet centre. Reporting directly into the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Bodyshop, Inspection and Mechanical Workshops and Parts Department. You will have the support of two Operation Managers and Parts Manager reporting directly to you. You will be key in supporting the General Manager and operational team by driving operational performance, budget achievement, effective cost control, workshop and individual Productivity, Efficiency and Utilisation. Furthermore, you will drive continuous improvement and help manage change effectively. Your focus will include implementing best practices to boost efficiency, leveraging technology to streamline processes, and development of a flexible workforce to meet growing customer demands. The role will help to drive improved SLA and KPI performance, ensuring operations align with business and customer objectives. Equally important is fostering a positive work environment, developing team talent, and recognising contributions. The Senior Operations Manager will stand in for the General Manager to cover in their absence. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience managing workshops environment and a minimum of three years of managerial experience. This experience will enable you to understand the day-to-day operations of the workshop and effectively lead, manage, and motivate your team to achieve targets. Your key responsibilities will be: Manage the team - Managing and motivating a team of workshop and inspection staff, reviewing daily tasks, and ensuring that the team meets the targets and KPI’s whilst completing the work required to the highest standards Training - adopt and take responsibility for all technical apprentices and provide development training plans for each technical head within your department Processes – reviewing current processes and implementation of new ones required for the departmental growth Forecasting and Budgeting - Control workshops’ budget, forecasting, and operational targets Reporting - Complete daily reports for the Site Manager H&S - Ensure that your teams comply with our Health & Safety regulations Recruitment Support - Work together with the recruitment team to hire the best candidates by reviewing applications, interviewing and overseeing skill tests of potential new starters HR support - Manage staff meetings, absences, holidays, and review staff performance To be successful, you’ll bring some of the following experience with you: Previous managerial experience within workshop/bodyshop environment (minimum 2 years) Previous workshop experience (minimum 3-5 years) Keey eye for continuous improvement and lean Own a Full UK Driving Licence Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office- Outlook and Excel Strong communication skills We’ve put everything in place to ensure you thrive.
