As a Corporate Finance Manager at Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, you will play a central role in maintaining and strengthening the financial health of vital children’s services. Established in November 2020, the Trust is dedicated to delivering the best possible opportunities for children across Northamptonshire, providing children’s social care and targeted early help services on behalf of North and West Northamptonshire Councils.
You’ll join a dynamic and supportive finance team as a senior leader, reporting to the Head of Finance and managing a team of finance professionals. Based in Northampton, the role also offers the flexibility of hybrid working.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you will take ownership of key corporate finance functions, ensuring everything runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards.
* Lead the corporate finance processes, ensuring all responsibilities are delivered accurately and on time.
* Provide expert financial insight, evaluating and advising on financial implications across the organisation.
* Drive the development and continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures.
* Oversee VAT management and cash flow across the Trust.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
* Work closely with senior leaders and operational teams, ensuring financial information supports effective decision-making.
About you
You will be a CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant with ongoing professional development and experience of working in local government.
You have a strong track record of managing, motivating, and developing teams, ensuring objectives are met.
The ability to communicate effectively with professional and technical finance staff, operational managers and external organisations is essential.
You have up-to-date knowledge of financial and accounting policies, with hands‑on experience in year‑end accounts, budget setting, and budget monitoring.
Most importantly, you want to make a difference – using your expertise to support services that have a lasting impact on children and families.
