This is a clinical band 7 nursing post within the Evelina London Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU). Evelina PCCU is a highly specialist regional acute paediatric unit caring for up to 10 patients requiring Level 2 PCC care.
The post holder will be integral in coordinating and delivering excellent care within the PCCU. They will be responsible for managing the nursing team and will oversee care delivery for the patients requiring PCC Level 1 and 2 care.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our existing PCCU Band 7 team at a time when we are transitioning into one site working as part of the move of in-patient services from The Royal Brompton Hospital to the Evelina site. As part of this move, we will become one of the largest providers for paediatric critical care in the UK.
The post holder will be an integral part of the PCCU leadership team .You will be responsible for providing visible leadership, knowledge and expertise in a clinically demanding environment at a time of significant change. You must be committed to improving care provided to babies, children, and young people and their families, as well as the experience of our staff providing the care.
The post-holder will lead services to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care, ensuring that the care we provide 24/7 meets the standards we would wish for ourselves and our families.

Education
Essential criteria
1. RN Child registered nurse on the NMC register
2. Relevant post registration course eg. PHDU / PICU course
3. Mentorship qualification
Desirable criteria
4. Leadership training
5. Masters degree
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Relevant post graduate experience, including PHDU
7. Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of patient group
8. Experience of supervision of junior staff and management experience
Skills and abilities

9. Highly skilled in the care and safety of the child in high dependency care
10. Highly skilled in managing a deteriorating patient
11. Team building skills
