Offer description

We offer an attractive salary of £28,000 during training and £30,000 once training is complete. You will receive 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. We also have a shutdown between Christmas and New Year.

Excellent communication skills are vital to be successful in this role as you will be working in a highly regulated environment. You will be reading SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and working closely with your colleagues to ensure targets are met and products are manufactured safely.

You will be required to complete manual production tasks and packaging tasks, ensuring compliance with cGMP and GDP requirements. Therefore, we are keen to see applications from candidates that have worked in this type of environment.

The manufacturing area is equivalent to grade B & C cleanroom which requires full PPE (gown, goggles, hair net and full cleanroom suit) throughout the shift. Please only apply for this role if you believe you would feel comfortable in this level of PPE. (On interview a full demonstration will be given.)


Role Responsibilities

* Generate batch documentation as appropriate.
* Undertake tasks as allocated on the manufacturing plan including basic cleanroom maintenance checks.
* Complete transactions on computerized ERP system.
* Inform Senior Manufacturing Technician / Supervisor if allocated tasks are not completed.
* Carry out other duties as allocated outside of the manufacturing process and use own initiative to find / complete other work.
* Complete training of basic manufacturing processes.
* Ability to consistently establish and maintain priorities in order to complete tasks and projects within timelines.
* Accurate record keeping and good housekeeping.
* Report any errors or issues to QA and manufacturing leadership team.
* Ensure own training record is kept up to date and BAXU modules completed on time.
* Ensuring the management team and appropriate team members are aware of issue or potential issues in a timely manner.
* Ability to clearly communicate when conveying ideas and information both in writing and verbally.
* Attend and participate in operations department meetings.
* Work cohesively with other team members to achieve the target outputs.
* Promote a strong teamwork environment. Shows co-operation within manufacturing and other departments to resolve issues.
* Participate in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts by supporting continuous improvement ideas.


Qualifications

* GCSE Level Standard or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills are vital to this role.
* Able to work as part of a cross-functional team.
* Background in manufacturing, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
* Knowledge of SOPs and non conformances would be an advantage but not essential.

Baxter is a global pharmaceutical company that manufactures many life‑saving products, but here in Elstree we specifically manufacture bone hemostats—a synthetic bone graft material for surgeons to use in operating theatres. The site has 40 employees; although a large company, we remain a close‑knit team, with some of our employees having been here over 20 years.

This role is based on a Monday to Friday working 07:30am to 16:00pm, with 1 in 3 Saturdays, 06:00am-14:00pm. 40 hours per week contract. (NO SHIFT WORK)
