THE COMPANY:
We are currently working with a leading food manufacturer, based in Telford, who are looking to recruit an experienced Materials Controller to join their Supply Chain team.

THE CANDIDATE:
The right candidate will have a strong background within manufacturing – ideally within the food industry, however this isn’t essential.
The ability to build strong relationships with suppliers is a must, as well as the ability to creatively overcome supply chain challenges.
DUTIES:
* Inbound Planning & Scheduling: Plan and schedule all inbound materials to meet site operational requirements, generate necessary purchase orders, and align deliveries with production needs.
* Stock & Inventory Management: Monitor and manage raw material and packaging stock levels, control inventory value within set parameters, and oversee storage space in warehouse freezers and general areas.
* Supplier Coordination: Communicate clearly with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, de-listings, and stockholding, introduce delivery time slots, and maintain strong supplier KPIs including OTIF.
* Service Reporting & Escalation: Generate weekly inbound service level reports and escalate any supply chain issues impacting service levels or production, working with the wider team on resolution.
* Continuous Improvement: Review and improve scheduling processes to enhance supplier clarity and operational efficiency; contribute to site-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
* Stock Monitoring & Risk Mitigation: Conduct regular reviews of site and supplier stock levels, highlight and manage slow-moving stock and potential write-offs through escalation and reporting structures.
* Compliance & Flexibility: Adhere to EH&S and quality guidelines and support other reasonable tasks as required, including new item launches in line with site plans.
