Overview
A Vacancy at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking for a senior physiotherapist to cover parental leave within the Community Assessment and Treatment Services (CATS) to support frail and/or older people. CATS provides rapid access to a multidisciplinary team for primarily frail and/or elderly patients with a focus on high quality care for people with frailty. The successful candidate will work with Thame and Marlow CATS and will support the developing Marlow CATS Rehabilitation Service.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside GPs with a special interest in elderly care and Falls Specialist physiotherapists, enabling clinical development in frailty and falls prevention. The role is for 3 full days (22.5 hours) or more (up to 27 hours). The successful candidate will provide physiotherapy assessments within clinics in Thame and Marlow as part of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments or Nursing and Therapy led Multifactorial falls Assessments and will provide indirect supervision for the rehabilitation support worker in Marlow CATS Rehab Service. Services run from 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel effectively and independently daily to and from the base, clients’ homes and other venues around the geographical area. If necessary, adjustments can be considered, in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act.
Responsibilities
* Provide physiotherapy assessments within the clinics in Thame and Marlow as part of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments or Nursing and Therapy led Multifactorial falls Assessments.
* Develop and support the Marlow CATS Rehabilitation Service.
* Deliver indirect supervision for the rehabilitation support worker in Marlow CATS Rehab Service.
* Travel daily to a variety of locations around the geographical area as required.
* Work 3 full days (22.5 hours) or more (up to 27 hours).
Qualifications and Skills
* Senior physiotherapist with the ability to provide assessments and treatment planning for frail and/or elderly patients.
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and in elderly care or falls prevention settings is desirable.
* Ability to travel effectively and independently between sites and client locations.
