Who will you be working for?
NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, we provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and we offer a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.
What candidate are we looking for?
* A desire to learn and progress within the HGV industry
* Presentable with a good attitude to work
* Ability to maintain a positive customer experience through good customer service when required
* Work experience from within a garage/ workshop/ vehicle depot advantageous
What will be your duties?
* Attend College and other training courses to learn the technical aspects of motor vehicle mechanics
* Work alongside competent colleagues/ HGV Technicians to learn the practical aspects of motor vehicle mechanics
* Working within the workshop environment & to your competent level of training, maintain Customers commercial fleet of vehicles to DVSA standards, whilst observing Company and manufacturers policies
* By ensuring quality maintenance standards, minimise the time lost due to breakdowns and non - scheduled repairs
* Within the confines of your training level & capability, keep customer downtime to an absolute minimum by ensuring each job is efficiently and effectively managed and where possible achieve standard working times
* Maintain external client vehicles & trailers to the highest of standards & manufacturers guidelines and ensure customer expectations are delivered and exceeded
* Ensure all documentation is maintained accurately and up to date by using designated paperwork & IT systems
* In situations where vehicle and accident abuse has been determined, consult with the foreman / Service Manager ensuring awareness of such costs and advise on causal factors. Identify to the benefit of the business any product concerns or cost savings
* Ensure all equipment and tools are maintained & used in a safe working condition. Liaise with the workshop foreman & Service Manager where necessary
* Ensure all environmental and C.O.S.H.H Health & Safety requirements are being observed in compliance with the H & S at work regulations act. Liaise with the Service Manager and H & S officer where necessary
* Ensure that when dealing with the customer directly that you talk positively about the services being provided and that the customer receives a good experience
